To help you make the most of your time with us, we’ve put together a suggested itinerary for an ideal two‑day visit.

Day 1: Historical charm & medieval atmosphere
Morning – A journey through time in the town centre:
Start your day with a stroll among the low, colourful wooden houses along the Arboga River. Visit the Holy Trinity Church, dating back to the 13th century, and don’t miss the Arboga Brewery Museum – Sweden’s only preserved wooden brewery.

Lunch & Fika:
Sit down for lunch or a cosy Swedish fika in a historic setting, for example at Café Två Skator or the traditional Håges Konditori.

Afternoon – Culture and unique museums:
Visit the Arboga Robot Museum for a fascinating insight into the history of aviation and missile technology, or take a relaxing walk through the medieval herb garden, Sankta Karins örtagård, in Ahllöfsparken.

Evening – Dinner by the river:
Round off the day with a delicious dinner at Restaurang Ågården right by the Arboga River, or enjoy the warm atmosphere at Stadskällaren.

Day 2: Nature, canal life by bike & local flavours
Arboga Tourist Information rents out bicycles and is conveniently located by Arboga Station (Centrumleden 6). This is the easiest option since it’s right next to the town centre. They offer day rentals at a favourable price.

Morning – Cycling along Sweden’s oldest man‑made waterway:
Put on comfortable shoes and rent a bike for the day. Cycle towards the wonderful excursion destination Hjälmare docka. The route offers beautiful nature and peaceful canal scenery.

Lunch by the water:
Once you arrive at Hjälmare docka, you can enjoy the historic surroundings, watch the boats passing through the locks, and visit the information centre. Sit down for a tasty lunch, a hearty sandwich or a refreshing ice cream in the sun at the popular Hjälmare Canal Café.

Afternoon – Art, nature or even more fika?
For nature and art lovers:
On your way back, you can stop by the unique Peace Sculpture Park in Jädersbruk, where artworks are created from decommissioned war materials, and combine it with a fika at the sustainable Jädersbruks Herrgård.

For ice cream enthusiasts:
Take the bike (or car) to the popular Glass & Berså just outside town for an exceptional ice cream experience in a lush garden setting.

Evening – Relaxation at the hostel:
After an active day on the bike, return to the calm atmosphere at Räntmästaregården, park your bike and rest your legs after a day full of memorable impressions.
